Hi contestants!

Here’s the status of today’s challenge. Remember to stop by the forum at http://www.socialmarketing101.com/Forum and discuss it there.  I got a lot of emails on my lens changing slants. Seemed to work well for me. I’m closing in on you, Kevin but I’m sure that’s just temporary…I know you have tricks up your sleeve. An arsenal of last-minute stuff to leave us in the dust.

By the way, Kevin now ranks #1 for the tag “affiliate marketing” and Ann and Somjai are also in the top 10. We still have 5 challenge lenses in the top 10 list in the Business category. The group is #3 for Movers and Shakers and our group finally made it on the Top 100 group list for most active groups, placing 87th for today.

Hi Challengers!

I added a forum to make it easier on our discussions. You can find it here: http://www.socialmarketing101.com/Forum.  I worked a little on my lens yesterday and it paid off. I jumped from #37 to #24.  I noticed a lot more traffic, too. Still haven’t done the bookmarking thing yet, but I’ll see how that goes.

Stuart and Jennifer, you both are stuck in your slots – or is this some sort of glitch? It’s very odd to not see any change in position for days in a row. Please let me know if your dashboard reads the same as what I’m seeing.

Hi Challengers!

We’re all sort of holding steady now, which is why I wanted to get past that initial lurch when I believe Squidoo gives extra algorithm boosts to new lenses. Now we’re on our own and you have to find a strategy that helps you climb to a top spot and keep it.

Kevin and Stephen, I notice you both have hyphenated lenses and are in the top 2. Do you think that impacts it any? As I mentioned in the Warrior Forum, I’ve grown bored of the content on my lens, so I decided to kill three birds with one stone.

I’m making my lens all about becoming an affiliate marketer for my Squidoo eBook. Since my target audience is already ON Squidoo, and most members spread the word, why shouldn’t they make some money doing it?

Plus, I’m able to work on the items for my affiliate toolbox and increase exposure for both the eBook and affiliate program all at once. I may have to go back to the drawing board yet again – who knows?

Another thing I’m about to start today is all the social bookmarking stuff. I’m all confused about that stuff technorati and digging and del.icio.us-ing all over the place. But I’ll start today and see where that gets me. I’m also posting some articles that I outsourced for my Squidoo eBook so there’s some article marketing mixed in.

Again, I think these challenges are so wonderful and eye opening. Kevin you have been a great resource to myself and I’m sure others. I hope everyone feels like the challenge is contributing to their success in some way. This will surely be a HUGE update to my Squidoo eBook for February. Eight in the Top 100. We’re now the #2 Group in Movers and Shakers (And by the way I found out that the eBook is showing up as a mover and shaker in the affiliate tools, too – although nothing to do with this challenge).

Hi Challengers!

Sorry it’s taken so long to get an update today - I’ve been monitoring Squidoo closely to see when the entire LensRank was updated and it took awhile. The Squid Staff said that as the lens count grows, it takes longer for the update to happen.

We have someone in the Top 10 list!  Kevin made it to #9 overnight. Congratulations, Kevin! Stephen knocked me out of second place and the audio files are great.  My affiliate marketing lens is now higher than my information entrepreneur lens. We hold five of the Top 5 positions in Business & Finance.
