EDIT: LensRank was still updating this morning, so I’m editing the post to reflect current status 

Hi Everyone!

It’s Day 13 – almost to the halfway point. Kevin, we are learning so much from you. Thanks for all of your insight. I’m not technical at all so all of these fantastic tips and tricks are going to help Squidooers capitalize on the system so much more.

Once again, my dashboard and LensRank don’t match up, but I always go by what’s on the lens itself since I can’t see everyone’s dashboard. My dash says 43, though and I’m 43 on the LensRank list…but I’m keeping it uniform to go by LensRank on the actual lens as I’ve been doing. I’ve asked the Squid Staff why this is happening because right now, the person who is #40 on the LensRank list shows 40, too.

Jasman, you scared me. When I saw that you had submitted a lens called “The Art of Becoming an Internet Entrepreneur” to our group, I thought someone had hijacked my lens since it’s a close name to my lens called The Art of Becoming an Information Entrepreneur lens. LOL – took me a sec to catch the difference.

We have seven people in the Top 100 list right now. Three of us are in the Top 10 list for the Business category – myself (twice but one is my contest lens), Bruce, and Kevin and I think everyone else made it to the Top 100 list of Business. Our group is also #6 in the Groups “Movers and Shakers” list.

PS - My traffic to my domain is increasing steadily from my informationentrepreneur lens. And I’m seeing sales of my eBook and affiliate products increase from Squidoo traffic, too!

I finally heard from Darwin - an original sign-up - and he’s out of the gate with his lens, located here: www.squidoo.com/affiliatemarketing-expat.

Right now he’s holding at #8.229 and I rated him 5 stars like I did everyone else and left a blurb on his guestbook. Everyone else ought to stop in and say hi to him, too!

Hi Contestants!

Big leap for me…I’m now breathing down Kevin’s back for first place.  And I’ll feel guilty if I knock him off since he’s been so helpful. Maybe for a second at least

One good way to pick up new tips and strategies is to visit SquidU and see what others are saying. There’s a Tips and Tricks section where you learn lots of good stuff. Plus, visit other lenses and see what lensmasters are doing. Contact them if you find something you’d like to learn how to do.

On another note, I noticed the Squid staff got rid of people who were harassing lensmasters off the forum. I know I was getting hateful emails about this contest, so I’m glad they’re outta there! There’s plenty of room for marketers and what they don’t realize is there’s a huge difference between a marketer and a spammer.

Hi Contestants!

Yesterday the Squid Staff told us in SquidU that last night they were adjusting the algorithm. Looks like that served Kevin VERY well. They said, “As ever, we’re constantly trying to come up with combos that reward a) good handbuilt content that is b) promoted well and c) recommended by readers.”

Some of you may see a different position for your lens on your dashboard than what I see on the page. My own lens shows 84, but 78 on my dash.  Then if you look on the Top 100 list, it shows 77 – so who knows? Must be a glitch going on.

Kevin – you’re almost in the top 10! You’ve made it to #3 in the Business category. Keep up the great work everybody.

Hi everyone!

I don’t know about you, but I didn’t do anything to my lens this weekend. Looks like we have a new frontrunner – Kevin Davis came from the middle to lead the pack. Today is day 10 – we have 20 more days.

This is when you can build feeder lenses and rank those high and point to your contest lens to generate a lot of traffic to it.  Has anyone started seeing any affiliate sales? I’m having some sales to my Squidoo eBook from the lenses! Keep up the good work. I think next month will be more fun when we can do lenses on what we’re interested in – not just an IM term.

Keith had to withdraw from the challenge due to personal reasons but said he’s try to join up in a future contest. His poor loser lens has been deleted.

Hi Challengers! Hope you’re all having a great weekend. I started a diet, so I’m not as chipper as usual. However, I’ve decided to take my frustrations out on my Squidoo lens, funneling all of my energy into it – so watch out everyone!

Our next milestone will be for some of us to make it into the Top 10 list. Five people are now in the Top 100 and all of us are above the 1,000 mark! Has anyone been tracking their traffic to their domains?  Ross, people are wondering if you have some high PR domains pointing towards your lens.
