When I started using Squidoo, I was focused on spreading ideas and making information known. I hadn’t considered branding my own name, even though I knew it would help boost my reputation on the ‘net for the knowledge I could impart as well as the writing skills I was offering as services.

Then when I launched my Social Networking on Squidoo group, I noticed there was someone who had registered the lenses of many top marketers. Since I’m striving to build my own name, I quickly went and registered my moniker at Squidoo, too.

I suspicion that this person is going to populate the lens with great information and ride the wave of Squidoo PageRank to a top listing and then sell the lens for a nice profit. I am also doing this with a couple of hot products. But Squidoo has made it even easier on you to brand your name now than when I first created http://www.squidoo.com/TiffanyDow.

They created a group for you to add your lens to as a “Person Who Matters.”  Do you matter?  Of course you do - and you need to join this group and help brand you - as your business. What do you gab about? Position yourself as an expert in your niche. I told a personal story of how I got started with Internet Marketing.

I only hope my Squidoo lens doesn’t topple my top ranking in Google where my home page at www.TiffanyDow.com currently has top spot. I frequently battle with another Tiffany Dow (who is an artist) for that position.

Start branding your name today - and don’t be afraid to become a “guru” in your own right.

I noticed many new people signing up for the Squidoo Challenge list and I wanted to let everyone know I’ll be starting a new one in March. I have to figure out the specifics.

We got a mention in SquidU’s newsletter! So everyone who wants to participate is welcome. You don’t have to be a marketer, just someone wanting to learn more about how to use Squidoo and test your strengths against other LensMasters.

I’m going to take the rest of February off and consider what I want for the March challenge. It will probably be somewhat shorter (30 days IS too long, isn’t it?) and give more leniency into what you can do with your lens.

And for everyone who participated in this challenge, if you’d like to get me your notes via email, I’ll include them (written in eBook form, of course) with a link to your site, lens, etc. I will give these to the participants to use as a rebrandable report that you can use as opt-in freebies, etc.

Hope you’re ready for a great weekend. Our success on Squidoo has been going great! I’m receiving about 250 hits a week from my challenge lens, which translates into about 1,000 hits a month from it. That’s just that one lens. I get hits from my other lenses, and draw traffic in from the Google SERPs, too.

Hi everyone!

 
I noticed today that at the top, it’ll tell you yours LensRank in your category, while your overall LensRank is still on the right in the sidebar.  One thing I noticed – a bug – my lens says updated more than 1 week ago and this is wrong. I updated it yesterday.

 
My challenge lens rose to #20 in the Google SERPs for the phrase affiliate marketing tools.  There are over 6 ½ million searches for that, so I’m pretty proud of being on page 2 and rising slowly. I plan to get a Top 10 spot in the next 30 days. 

 
We have 7/10 top spots for the phrase affiliate marketing and 7/10 top spots in the SEO & Affiliate Marketing Category. Okay, here’s where we stand:
