Hi Everyone!

 
Well I woke up in shock to see my contest lens in the 1500s, but it’s worked itself out. I still wasn’t happy to see a drop in almost 20 spots, though – I assume it’s because I didn’t update yesterday. 

 
Lots of lenses took a huge tumble. No telling what they did to the algorithm. But back to working on it! Kevin retook first place. We own 7 out of 10 top spots for the tag phrase “affiliate marketing.” We also take 7 of the Top 10 listing in the SEO & Affiliate Marketing category. The group is #11 on Movers and Shakers and #56 on the Most Active Groups list. 

 
I’m currently #23 for my phrase “Affiliate Marketing Tools” on Google – anyone else noticing a rise in the SERPs?  Here’s where we stand today:

Hey everyone - I’m not going to do the LensRank right this second because something’s wrong. I went to SquidU and everyone’s experiencing weird things in LensRank. For instance, my 20s-rated lens fell to the 1500s. ALL of my lenses flipped on their heads and none of the usual good lenses are up at the top.

So let me see if anything gets sorted out and if not, then I guess we’re struggling to make it to the top again in the last few days. Ugh.

Hi Everyone!

Okay, yesterday I was dealing with house problems all day (think plumbers and lots of money), so I never got around to posting Day 23. So here we are on Day 24. I believe I read a note that Kevin had the #1 spot yesterday – sorry everyone for not catching the numbers!

Um, Ann – I love the picture you added to your lens! And Ross has his lens populated so he’s skyrocketing upwards now. I know the final days are going to be tough because everyone wants to finish in the top. Hopefully we can all push to the Top 100 list at least/ Right now we have 10 in the Top 100 list – a 10% share!

It’s Day 22 and we’re winding down to the final spots now.  We have about a week to make a last minute thrust to the forefront of Squidoo’s Top 100 overall LensRank.  I’m aggravated with myself for neglecting my Information Entrepreneur lens, though. I’ve been so busy and only focused a little time to my contest lens and it’s bumped my other long-standing lens out of position.

 
Here’s where we stand today: Jasman’s still in first place, but none of us are in the Top 10. Nine are in the Top 100. Someone asked about stats on earnings. It’s hard for me to gauge because I know I’ve brought more affiliates on board (they’re emailing me through my lens), and I get affiliate sales, so I’m not sure if those are derived from my lens or not.

 
We have 7 in the Top 10 for “affiliate marketing,” 8 in the Top 10 for the SEO/Affiliate Marketing category. I am now #26 out of 6,950,000 for the phrase “affiliate marketing tools” without quotes. (Page 3).

 
I’m averaging about 41 visitors per day to my challenge lens. My lens has been marked a favorite 8 times and emailed twice. I have 22 trackbacks. I have 138 Clickouts and 13 clickouts per module. Now to find out what all that means. I’d like to see what everyone else’s stats are, so I’ll start a thread on it at the Forum if you’d like to compare.

Ross took a giant leap forward today with his guestbook-only lens. LOL There must be some heavy weight added to the guestbook. I’m not making fun of it, but I seriously think that’s an interesting case study in the rankings right there!

 
So here’s where we are now that Jasman knocked Kevin off the mountain. Better hold on tight because I’m working on social bookmarking, so hopefully I’ll see a flood of traffic!

Since Kevin pointed out that our affiliate marketing tag has to be in the regular tags in addition to the primary tag, I added it and now I’m showing up in the Top rankings for that phrase. In the Top 10 for “affiliate marketing,” we have: Kevin (#1), Tiffany (#2), Ann (#4), Ruth (#5), Ele (#8), and Somjai (#9). 

 
In the SEO & Affiliate Marketing category we have the following spots: Jasman (#1), Kevin (#2), Tiffany (#3), Greg (#4), Simon (#5), Ann (#8), and Bruce (#10).  Not too shabby, everyone! Plus we have 10 in the Top 100. Keep going!

Today is the 20th day.  As you heard, we have our own new category, so make sure you switch it over from Business.  I had a 1-star bandit hit one of my lenses last night (not my contest lens and it was none of you I’m sure). I had JUST started the poor little thing and now it’s tarnished.

 
You expect this from a teenager playing on MySpace or something, but grown men and women really ought to practice good netiquette. After you leave the challenge, make sure you’re a positive influence on the Squidoo community and don’t get too competitive trying to defeat everyone else.
