Hi Challengers!

Wow - I didn’t expect the spots to disappear in 24 hours, but they did! Congratulations to all who are in it to win it (win what, I don’t know yet - but I’ll pull something together).

Here’s the deal for the April contest:

The ONLY rule is that you must create your lens ON April 16th (Central Standard Texas Time in case you’re on the other side of the planet).

Everything else is fair game. I DO expect everyone to abide by ethical participation. No going around 1-starring the competitors. That’s being a poor sport. But you can create lenses between now and then to raise in rank before the challenge so that on contest day, you can point those lenses toward your new one (called feeder lenses).

You can go ahead and develop content and map out a strategy for your lens - whatever you want. I welcome everyone to email me with discussions about their tips and tricks - it’s always amazing to see what little things people do to get ahead. Be sure to join the forum and chat about the challenge there, too!

Hi Squidoodlers!

This challenge in April will be a bit different - it’s limited and first come, first served. There are 21 categories on Squidoo (well 22, but I personally don’t want to have to review the XXX category, so I’m leaving that one out). There are 21 spots open for this contest. (Update: All full - Even I don’t get to participate! LOL…but stay tuned for the May challenge or follow along with a lens of your own and see if you can beat our participants. You can log into the forum and discuss your lens with the challenge people.)

It will be done on a first come, first claimed basis. Only one person can claim a category and you’ll do it by leaving a comment right here in the blog to announce that you’re claiming a particular category. When all the categories are gone, the challenge entries are closed.

If, on April 15th no one has claimed all of the categories and a participant wants to double up on their efforts, you can feel free to claim a second category on April 15th. We’re still going to go by overall LensRank, unless anyone can ever let me know a different way to figure it out in an unbiased manner.

I won’t pick first – I’ll let everyone grab what they want today and I’ll take what’s left over tomorrow or sit it out if someone claims all of the spots. I may create a “follow along” lens just to keep honing my skills, though
