5 Squidoo Secrets Every Lensmaster Must Know
Want in on some simple Squidoo Secrets that will help you enhance your lensmaster status? Here are a few Squidoo Secrets we top lensmasters use consistently that you need to implement yourself:
Squidoo Secret #1: Lenses that are more narrow get more traffic. Of course we’re talking generalizations. Sure, there’s the unique case where a lens on “toys” outperforms a lens on “toddler toys,” but if you want your lens to rank well in the SERPs, narrow your niche!
Squidoo Secret #2: Get yourself a good 50 lenses and use a template - it’s a lifesaver when it comes to time. I build templates for various purposes. I have them for specific Build My Lens customers who buy in bulk - 1 for each customer so it suits their needs perfectly. I have them for my Amazon product lenses. I have them for my Lens Alert list where I sell pre-made lenses on niche topics I know will be hot. Shave time off your lens creation.
Squidoo Secret #3: Use QuickBuilder. Located here: http://www.squidoo.com/build/quick the QuickBuilder is a one page lens registration area, so you can forget going from step 1 to step 2 to step 3 to step 4 and then FINALLY getting to edit your screen.
Squidoo Secret #4: Forget tags except add one to your primary lens registration and the same one in your “add more tags.” After that, concentrate on putting tags (keywords) in your titles and content.
Squidoo Secret #5: More modules mean more traffic. It makes good sense, doesn’t it? The more modules you have, the more content you have. The more content you have, the more opportunities you have to attract a search engine user. Do a nice combination of broad and narrow keywords and you’ll cast a wide net.
These are the 5 Squidoo secrets I use on a regular basis. Most people don’t implement them. They read them, then do it their own way - to their detriment.

MLM Multi Level Marketing Free Lead Generation
I started looking into the target audience for our business at BuildMyLens.com and it turns out network marketers (multi level marketers) are using Squidoo to generate leads and build a downline for their MLM business. It makes perfect sense - Squidoo is a free traffic generation tool, effective, they allow marketing, and you’re able to hone in on your target audience.
In the case of MLM, multi level marketing lead generation can be difficult. Many network marketers find themselves having to bother friends and family because they can’t scrounge up leads on their own. Now, using Squidoo, they can employ the use of attraction marketing and pre-qualify those leads before they click through to their biz opp and become a prospects for their downline.
Here are some of the MLM companies we’ve been building lenses about on Squidoo:
1.) Reverse Funnel System
2.) Magnetic Sponsoring
3.) Carbon Copy Pro and Business in a Box in conjunction with Wealth Masters International
4.) Shaklee
5.) MiEssence
and many more.
Now that’s not to say Squidoo is ONLY powerful for Multi Level Marketers who want a lead generation system, either. Regular online marketers and even brick and mortar business owners and entrepreneurs have come to BuildMyLens.com to have lenses created to increase their exposure and help them brand their business.
If you’re in MLM and you want to build a downline and sell products, try Squidoo. It’s free, it welcomes marketing, and the way Lewis Smile and Tiffany Dow build it - it’s goooooood.
How to Rake in Consistent Squidoo Money
Do you Squidoo? It’s the question on everyone’s lips these days. Everyone who’s anyone has at least one Squidoo lens as a part of their marketing toolbox - but are you using this incredibly popular social knowledge community to your best advantage?
There’s an unlimited amount of online wealth that you could be raking in time after time with Squidoo lenses, but first you need to know the best ways to go about building a Squidoo network that will bring you a consistent income month after month.
The first thing you need to look at when to comes to using Squidoo effectively, is whether you’ve created a niche specific account or if you’re simply posting haphazardly on a number of different topics.
To get the most out of your Squidoo profits, it’s important that you create a niche account that targets only one audience at a time. Since Squidoo allows you to have unlimited accounts, create one for each broad niche you’re targeting so that your expertise isn’t stretched thin.
Once you’ve built your niche account, make a point to update your lenses on a fairly regular basis. Not only will this increase your lens popularity in the search engines, since it feeds the spiders with fresh content, but it will also keep your fans coming back for more!
Connect the lenses to showcase your entire niche network. Use an RSS that shows the visitor your lenses with excerpts about what each one is about. Or, use the Featured Lens modules and show off a few lenses that you want to cross-promote to your visitor.
Once you’ve built an active Squidoo lens niche network, you’ll want to promote a number of various products in your lenses. As you build your expertise within your niche network, you’ll find that the larger variety of products you promote, the more sales you’ll make - earning you an even more consistent monthly income from your lenses.
It’s also important to remember that any items you promote using additional modules you add to your lenses such as Amazon or eBay modules need to be closely related to the topic you’ve chosen for your lens. Don’t let the system choose items to promote for you or it might dilute the relevancy of what your lens is all about.
Once you start to see real earnings from your Squidoo lenses, you’ll want to keep regular tabs on your lens stats so that you can repeat your successes in your other lenses. The more lenses you have that will consistently attract traffic and fans, the more money you can rake in month after month.

Info Product Killer Squidoo Versus Domains Case Study
Okay so my Elmo site is live but I’m tweaking little things as I get through his course, like my Meta tags, tiny little SEO things I had forgotten. Still need to do that.
Last night had two more sales of Elmo Live plus many more sales of other stuff - maybe add-ons maybe unique buyers.
I set up my Elmo Live Squidoo lens to compete with my domain, too. I did have 1 clickout in my 17 visitors go through my text link to Amazon, so they may have purchased.
The bad thing is I won’t know which site - domain or lens - gave me the sale. But I’m assuming both sets of visitors will be targeted, so what I’m going to judge by is the traffic volume and SERP ratings (as well as PageRank) that they get as a comparison.
Right now I’m having a ghostwriter do the content for my parent and other 3 baby sites. I am too busy to do it or I would myself. I also told her once she finishes, take the exact content she did and rewrite it all for Squidoo. So I’ll get two sets.
Now my Squidoo LENS has a disadvantage - my dot info domain has several depth pages pointing to the index page. But my lens just has the one page. To make up for that, I linked to it from my Top Toddler Toys lens. I put it in the Explore More section.
I also submitted 2-3 articles on EZA for my elmolivesesame site and I’ll do the same for my lens now.

Question from Reader: How Do You Reserve a URL Without Building the Lens and Set it To “Under Construction?”
Thanks for asking, Wendy!
All you do is log into your account and click the QuickBuilder link here:
http://www.squidoo.com/build/quick
Enter your lens Title and URL, pick a category and add one tag. Then enter your captcha code and click Done!
Your lens will be registered for your account and will say Under Construction until you publish it!
You can only do so many of these before the system will tell you to pretty much stop URL squatting and get to work on lens building. lol

Squidoo Modules That Convert Into Sales
Squidoo isn’t just for sharing your wealth of knowledge and information on a subject. It’s for making money, too. This isn’t a new revelation, but some seem to be taken aback by the idea that Squidoo can be used that way.
Proof of this is that there are Squidoo modules that are available to you for precisely that reason. The most obvious are the Amazon and eBay modules. There are also Amazon Plexo, CafePress, and more.
These can all be added to your lens and customized to your topic – they’re all moneymakers, too! Squidoo money modules not only help YOU earn money, but they contribute to the running of the site.
I have to say that Squidoo has the best staff members bar none – I don’t just mean they’re helpful – they’re all kind and witty – I’m never bored reading their lenses or hearing their tips on using Squidoo. So support them (and yourself) by using built in money modules.
Link List is another good module to use to make money on Squidoo because you can list the links that you love for viewers to find and visit. These can be links to your website, blog, to affiliate promotions, etc.
Use your imagination and link out to other moneymaking sites outside of Squidoo. By using the Poll module and a bit of HTML code, you can do the same thing. For example, ask your visitors which is the best Radio Flyer Wagon and then give them a choice between the Retro Rocket, the Classic Wagon, the Tiny Trike, and the Sport Coupe – linking each one with your Amazon Associates ID right in the poll!
The Squidoo modules that are available can lend themselves to money making opportunities – not just the most obvious ones, but others as well with a bit of thought. Some of these modules just naturally attract attention, such as the Poll module – who doesn’t like to vote in a Poll?
When you build your lens, think about which modules are going to be the handiest for your moneymaking endeavors. Check out what other good lenses are using, too.
