Day 3: Dear Lens Flipping Diary,

Today’s lens went out at 12:30 PM Texas time and by 12:41 I had a buyer – a first timer to the list, too!

I decided to create a lens on mind power today because it’s a hot niche where the products pay out a big commission – in many cases $80 or more. So I grabbed the URL: http://www.squidoo.com/your-mind-power and added keyword phrases in the lens title, module titles, and in the content itself.

Lens title: Achieve Greater Mind Power Today!

Introduction Module Title: Your Mind Power Can Help You Achieve Your Goals!

Amazon Module #1 Title: A Potent Mind Power Resource

Text Module #1 Title: Tapping Into Your Subconscious Mind Power

Amazon Module #2 Title: Transform Your Mind Into a Superpower!

Text Module #2 Title: Will Mind Power Books Help You Learn Control of Your Subconscious?

Guestbook Module Title: Achieve a Greater Power of Mind!

I put a total 6 of ClickBank products in the lens and made sure to use buzzwords for that niche like mind power, mental, NLP, quantum, and self-hypnosis. This particular lens will work for many niches – weight loss, stress reduction, money and success, relationships, etc.

I bought 3 new images for this lens at $1 a piece from iStockPhoto. I included 2 Amazon products and here’s a little hint about that – the Amazon title of the book and the reviewer comments all have relevant keywords and content – it’s a great addition to your lens.

I had 45 new sign-ups to the Lens Alert List yesterday and 7 more today. The person who got first dibs on this lens was a newcomer. I invited everyone to send me their niche lens needs so I can create lenses they might be interested in themselves.

What’s on the menu for tomorrow? I might alternate each day with some work at home topics because they’re in such high demand.

Tiff ;)

PS - Told my son it sold and he’s amazed. He doesn’t understand - $100 might as well be 1 million to him. He’s very excited and last night gave me a BIG hug and said “Thanks, Mom.” He’s one of those kids who lives for his education - very unlike how his slacker mom was in school. In his spare time, he likes to read or do science experiments. I’ll do anything for his education. So you guys and gals rock for helping me spread the word about this!

    Tiff,

You’re awesome! This challenge of yours is helping a lot of people, I’m sure. Great training ground!

I have a question. I know you have an established list that you market to (and come on … let’s face it … you ARE Tiffany Dow!). Can you give us any tips on where to find people who are looking for lenses and how should we approach them?

Thanks so much! Love your blog!

    Hi Deanna!

Yeah but I became Tiffany Dow because I branded myself that way. Anyone can brand themselves as a Squidoo lens expert if they have the skills. Look at the Squidoo Queen, Bob the Teacher, etc.

You have to become visible in the marketplace - start branding yourself as a lensmaker. Make sure you build a list from day one - and where’s your audience? Marketing forums, of course!

Hey Tiffany–this is a great learning opportunity for sure. ;-) I just had a question about images. You said you usually buy images on istockphoto. When you sell the lens does that also transfer rights to the images also? For example, it looks like you just upload the images using Squidoo’s built-in feature instead of linking to the image from a server. Do you just leave it at that once the lens is sold? Thanks!

  • tiffadmin:

    I do, yes.
